Dr Fernando Afonso

DR FERNANDO AFONSO

BDSC(WA)

Fernando graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1994 with Dr Justin Float. Since then he has worked almost exclusively in private dental practice in Perth and has owned two very successful dental practices in the northern suburbs of Woodvale and Joondalup.

Although he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, his area of special interest is cosmetic dental treatments and implant dentistry. Fernando completed his initial implant restorative and surgical training through the Branemark Implant Centre in Perth in 2002. He also completed training at the Fahl Institute for Advanced Dental Aesthetics in Brazil in 2007.

Fernando is committed to a high standard of dental care and loves to transform patients’ smiles and self-confidence through minimally invasive procedures such as tooth whitening and aesthetic composite restorations as well as more advanced restorative techniques including ceramic veneers, crowns, bridges and implant-supported restorations.

Fernando believes strongly in the value of continuing dental education and is an active member of the Australian Dental Association. As such he enjoys attending postgraduate courses both in Australia and internationally. He is currently completing the Master Implant Clinician Program jointly run by Loma Linda University (LLU) and the Global Institute for Dental Education (gIDE) in Califronia, USA.

Outside of dentistry, you will find Fernando out on the ocean whenever the opportunity presents itself. He loves boating, diving and is a keen fisherman. He enjoys making the most of Rotto and Perth beaches with his wife and three children.
